University of Basra organizes a symposium entitled “Medicine in Islamic and Modern History”

Female teachers at the College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra present a symposium at the Al-Zahraa College of Medicine entitled “Medicine in Islamic and Modern History”
.
The symposium included three topics. In the first topic, lecturer Sari Mansour Nasser addressed the concept of medicine in Islamic history, its origins and development, the most important medical books in Islam and the most famous Arab doctors.

In the second axis, lecturer Najwan Hassan Saba explained medicine in modern history about the names of doctors and treatment methods, along with an explanation of the most important figures in modern medicine who have a role in the development of medicine.
In the third axis, lecturer Doha Adel Salem referred to the concept of psychiatry throughout history, explained the therapeutic methods and the most important preventive guidelines, and concluded the axis with psychological recommendations and guidance.

The symposium aimed to focus on the importance of medicine throughout history and educate society about the importance of ancient books, which are considered important sources of medical awareness.
