A master's thesis at the College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra examined "the effect of using educational songs in alleviating the difficulties of learning to read among primary school students."

The message presented by researcher Umm Al-Banin Muhammad Yousef Al-Eidani aimed to:
To identify the effect of using educational songs in alleviating the difficulties of learning to read among primary school students, and to achieve this goal, the researcher adopted the experimental method, and the sample, which amounted to 30 students, was chosen intentionally. The researcher conducted equivalence between the research groups, which were divided into an experimental group and a control group, where the researcher prepared a note card that consisted From 13 items, and after the end of the main experiment, the results were processed using the SPSS statistical package 

The researcher concluded that studying reading according to educational songs helps students contemplate the beauty of the topics and interpret their meanings.

In her thesis, the researcher recommended the necessity of employing educational songs in teaching primary school students.
