The University President, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, participated in the meeting of the Opinion Board at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The University President stated that the meeting, chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, discussed ways to achieve qualitative excellence in university performance, scientific research and community service.

Adding that the University of Basra has included in its plan for the academic year 2024-2025 the organization of conferences and seminars that would enhance scientific research in line with the actual needs of the labor market, in addition to directing researchers to write in fields that keep pace with the development taking place in regional and international universities in various scientific and cultural fields.

Noting that the university will organize activities that would provide community service to many of the governorate's residents, including medical clinics in the College of Dentistry and organizing periodic visits to the Children's Hospital in the governorate to provide in-kind and material gifts to children hospitalized in the hospital, as well as periodic visits to the nursing home, in addition to building bridges of joint cooperation with governmental and civil institutions.
